CCPA Compliance
Idaho PTAC is committed to respecting the privacy rights of California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and its amendment, the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). This page explains how these laws apply to our website and how you can exercise your rights.
Scope and Applicability
Although Idaho PTAC is based in Idaho and serves a global audience, we recognize that the CCPA/CPRA applies to any business that collects personal information from California residents and meets certain thresholds. While we do not sell or share personal information for monetary gain, we use limited analytics tools that may qualify as "sharing" under CPRA. Therefore, we provide this compliance page to ensure full transparency and adherence to California law.
Your Rights Under CCPA/CPRA
As a California resident, you have the following rights:
- Right to Know: You can request details about the personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months.
- Right to Delete: You may request the deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: You have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. While we do not sell data for monetary compensation, we may use third-party analytics tools that could be interpreted as "sharing" under CPRA.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: You will not be denied services, charged different prices, or receive a different quality of service for exercising your CCPA/CPRA rights.
- Right to Authorized Agent: You may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf. We may require proof of authorization before processing such requests.
How We Comply
Idaho PTAC does not maintain user accounts or collect personal information through registration. We only collect limited, non-identifiable data through analytics tools such as Google Analytics and cookies to understand website traffic and improve user experience. We do not track individuals across websites or build profiles for targeted advertising. We honor browser do-not-track signals and provide clear opt-out mechanisms for third-party tracking tools.
Data We Process
Under CCPA/CPRA, the following categories of personal information may be collected:
- Internet or other electronic network activity information (e.g., pages visited, time spent, browser type)
- Device identifiers and IP addresses (anonymized where possible)
- Usage data from cookies and similar technologies
We do not collect, store, or process names, email addresses, phone numbers, government identifiers, or financial account details.
Legal Basis for Processing
Our processing of data is based on legitimate interest to maintain and improve our educational website, ensure technical functionality, and analyze usage patterns. We do not process sensitive personal information as defined by CPRA.
